Four platforms connect Indonesia’s furniture and manufacturing value chain

Post-show report • interzum jakarta 2026

Four exhibitions held across two Jakarta venues concluded their 2026 editions after a week of business activity covering furniture, materials, manufacturing and hardware. interzum jakarta, International Hardware Fair Indonesia, IFFMAC WOODMAC and IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne together attracted more than 14,000 visitors and more than 500 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions across a combined 35,000 sqm.

interzum jakarta, International Hardware Fair Indonesia and IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne took place from 24–27 September at NICE PIK 2, while IFMAC WOODMAC was held from 23–26 September at JIExpo Kemayoran. The participating companies represented materials and components, woodworking machinery and production technology, hardware and tools, furniture, and interior solutions.

A shared “1 Access. 4 Exhibitions” pass enabled trade visitors to move between the two venues and explore suppliers and solutions beyond their usual sectors. The exhibitions formed part of Indonesia Materials, Manufacturing & Furniture Connect (IMMFC), an initiative by Nine Koeln Indonesia, a joint venture between Koelnmesse and Amara Group, together with WAKENI and the support of industry partners ASMINDO, APKINDO, CNFMA, HDII and ISWA.

“What we have seen this year is the value of bringing connected industries closer together. These editions have given us a strong foundation to build on – creating more opportunities between international and Indonesian businesses while connecting different parts of the value chain in a more meaningful way. Our ambition is to build on this momentum and create even greater value for the industries we serve in Indonesia and internationally,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & Regional President Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd.

Industry perspectives and knowledge exchange

Industry associations and partners contributed local market knowledge and professional perspectives to the international exhibition platform. “IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne was never meant to be just an exhibition. It is a meeting point for the whole industry ecosystem, and this edition brought materials, components, hardware and finished furniture together in one place. Competitiveness cannot be built alone, and for our furniture and craft producers, being part of that ecosystem is how Indonesian furniture moves closer to the goal of becoming a furniture and design production hub in Asia,” said Dedy Rochimat, Chairman, ASMINDO.

The Main, Youth, DIY and IFMAC Stages hosted 51 sessions and five workshops, with 94 speakers from seven countries. Topics included material innovation, sustainability, design, sourcing, production technology, professional skills and emerging market opportunities.

MADENESS by Playo presented an experiential approach to material innovation in collaboration with interzum jakarta and IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne. Through Material Atlas Asia, Alterrama and Common Ground, the programme examined alternative and circular materials and their applications in furniture, interiors and the built environment. Alterrama featured work by ten material innovators and makers from Indonesia and Malaysia.

“interzum jakarta is a platform of choice because many international and local brands gather here. We can meet one another, observe current interior and furniture trends and, most importantly, build connections,” said June, Marketing Manager, Carta by VIVERE Group.

Practical programmes across the exhibitions

At International Hardware Fair Indonesia, the DIY Class, DIY Fest and DIY Workshop, delivered with ArchLabs and Gamma, complemented the exhibition’s offer of hardware, tools, fasteners and home improvement products.

“Being here (at IHF Indonesia) gives us the chance to understand the market first-hand – what customers are looking for and how their needs are changing. Those insights are important as we continue developing our products, and at the same time, we are meeting new importers, distributors and potential partners,” said Zhang Hua, CEO, Zhejiang URUS Tools.

IFMAC WOODMAC focused on production technology through live machine demonstrations, technical seminars, AI Expo and Festival Toekang 2026. Associations including ISWA and APKINDO also participated in the programme.

“For more than a decade, IFMAC WOODMAC has grown alongside Indonesia’s furniture and woodworking industry. The needs of manufacturers are changing, from how they improve production to the technologies and partners they are looking for. This 13th edition reflects that progress, while the wider industry week gives them a chance to look beyond machinery and connect with other parts of the industry that matter to their business,” said Rini Sumardi, President Director, PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI).

The 100+ Designers Club added a design-community element to IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne. Hosted by interior designer Lea A. Aziz, the networking session brought together more than 150 designers and industry professionals. It supported the exhibition’s expanded hospitality furniture focus alongside its established residential and interior offering.

“We see IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne as a platform with exceptional reach. This event is a melting pot of many of the key players in this industry. It is an excellent place to connect with professionals and brands and explore collaborations on upcoming projects,” said Dian Rediari, General Manager, Alessio.

Business meetings and the next edition

Business conversations remained central to the week. The Hosted Buyer Programme brought 50 buyers into direct meetings with exhibitors, supported by business matching and networking activities throughout the exhibitions.

“My clients expect pieces that feel considered and one-of-a-kind, so sourcing is never just about catalogues. What I found here, particularly at IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne and interzum jakarta, was a level of craftsmanship and finish I can genuinely bring into high-end residential projects. It’s rare to find that quality concentrated in one place,” said Rica Ishak, Principal Interior Designer, Rica Ishak Studio.

“I run a hardware and tools store, so what I need most is to compare suppliers side by side, not just by browsing a catalogue. At IHF Indonesia, I found new brands I hadn’t worked with before, and talking directly with suppliers about pricing and MOQs made it easy to decide who to bring into my store,” said Vincent, Owner, Toko Jaya Makmur.

The 2026 editions are intended to provide a basis for the further development of the exhibitions in line with changing market needs across the furniture, materials, manufacturing and hardware industries. The exhibitions will return to Jakarta from 22–25 September 2027.
