Uzbekistan is preparing to turn the village of Yangiqazgan in Kanimekh District into a modern desert tourism complex, combining national traditions, distinctive desert landscapes and contemporary services for travellers.
Transport access upgraded
The project includes measures to create a more integrated tourism environment capable of attracting both domestic and international visitors. A key step has been the improvement of transport infrastructure: roads leading to local tourist sites have been repaired and asphalted. The upgrades are expected to make travel more comfortable and strengthen the area’s appeal as a destination.
Egyptian experience under review
Local stakeholders are also studying Egypt’s experience in desert tourism. The review is focused on opportunities to introduce new services for travellers, expand tourism infrastructure and make fuller use of the region’s natural and cultural assets.
The broader objective is to establish Yangiqazgan as a distinctive tourism destination where national values and hospitality are combined with unique desert scenery and modern service standards. If implemented effectively, the initiatives could widen the development prospects of tourism in Kanimekh District, create new opportunities for entrepreneurial activity and strengthen the region’s position on Uzbekistan’s tourism map.
For international companies in hospitality, construction, transport, furniture, interior and exterior manufacturing, architecture and tourism services, the project signals potential demand for accommodation facilities, visitor infrastructure, mobility solutions, public-space design and locally adapted services. Its progress will also indicate how Uzbekistan is developing new tourism markets beyond established destinations and opening space for private investment in regional infrastructure.
