Uzbekistan Airways has secured a landmark fleet expansion deal with Boeing, ordering 14 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with options for eight additional units. The multi-billion dollar agreement represents the largest single order in the national carrier’s history and signals a major infrastructure investment aimed at transforming Central Asia’s aviation landscape.
The contract, valued at over $8 billion according to initial assessments, will see aircraft deliveries commence in 2031. This strategic expansion directly supports Uzbekistan’s ambitious vision to position Tashkent as the region’s premier international transit hub, creating new pathways for global commerce and tourism flows.

The expanded wide-body fleet will enable Uzbekistan Airways to significantly boost passenger capacity on key routes while enhancing schedule reliability. Uzbekistan Airways has operated Boeing 787 aircraft successfully for nearly a decade, making it the first 787 operator in Central Asia.
