Tashkent became the focal point for the global aviation and logistics community in mid-November, hosting the International Aviation and Logistics Forum organized within the framework of TransLogistica Uzbekistan 2025. The gathering brought together a formidable lineup of international airports, airlines, management companies, and aviation industry experts to tackle the sector’s most pressing challenges and opportunities.
The forum drew representatives from Boeing, Airbus, TAV Technologies, Vision Invest, Sojitz Corporation, Uzbekistan Airways, Uzbekistan Airports, Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, and numerous other players in the transport and logistics ecosystem. With more than 60 companies from 13 countries participating in the broader TransLogistica exhibition, the event underscored Tashkent’s emerging position as a regional hub for transport sector dialogue and innovation.
Infrastructure modernization takes center stage
Panel discussions centered on critical infrastructure development, improving the efficiency of air transportation, and deploying innovative technologies to enhance operational performance. The forum emphasized that airport development forms a cornerstone of Uzbekistan’s strategy for sustainable growth in its transport system and strengthens the country’s competitive position within international transit corridors.
Key focus areas included flight safety management systems, digitalization of aviation processes, and the integration of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies. Speakers highlighted how these measures enhance passenger convenience and safety while positioning airports as modern, sustainable infrastructure assets capable of supporting regional trade and tourism flows.
Regional cooperation and sector-wide reforms
The forum also hosted a dedicated session for national airlines representing member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (ECO), where participants examined civil aviation reforms, private aviation development prospects, and the adoption of environmentally sound technologies across the region. This parallel track signals growing momentum for coordinated aviation policy within Central Asia and neighboring markets.
Human capital development emerged as another critical theme, with sessions devoted to training the next generation of specialists for the aviation industry — addressing a sector-wide priority as competition for skilled talent intensifies.
Why this matters for international business
For international companies in logistics, construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure development, these developments signal Uzbekistan’s serious commitment to modernizing its transport backbone — a prerequisite for regional trade expansion and supply chain optimization. The convergence of major global aviation players in Tashkent, coupled with discussions on digital solutions and sustainable infrastructure, indicates rising foreign investment interest in the country’s transport sector. Companies operating in equipment manufacturing, logistics services, construction materials, or seeking to expand operations across Central Asia can view these initiatives as indicators of a maturing regulatory environment and growing demand for advanced infrastructure solutions. The forum’s emphasis on eco-friendly technologies also aligns with global trends toward sustainable supply chains, creating opportunities for vendors of green technologies and modern equipment in the region.
