In the year 2020, the amount of newly built or renovated stadiums in Russia reached 22,900 persons of total capacity. This represents a 102.8% increase year-over-year. Of this total, the lions share of 79% was new construction, while 21% was commissioned as renovated facilities.
In addition, 30 swimming pools (25 or 50 meters long), 29 sports facilities with artificial ice, as well as other 145 sports and recreation complexes have been commissioned in the reporting year, too.
The capacities of newly built or renovated stadiums and other sports facilities is a key factor shaping the demand for specialized sports furniture and equipment in Russia.
