In the year 2020, the amount of newly built or renovated hospital facilities in Russia reached 3,951 persons of capacity. This represents a 0.1% increase year-over-year. Of this amount, the lions share of 91% was new construction, while only 9% was commissioned as renovated facilities.
Most of this total, approximately 95%, were hospitals in urban area. The share of kids hospitals, newly built or renovated, amounted to 19%.
The capacities of newly built or renovated hospitals is a key factor shaping the demand for medical furniture and other similar equipment for hospital wards and rooms.
