At the end of the year 2020, the total room stock of collective accommodation facilities in Russia reached approximately 977 thousand units, down by 1.5% compared to the previous year. At the same time, the number of rooms of the highest category (multi-room or one-room apartments, suites, junior suites, studios) reached 56,143 units, up by 4.2%.
Collective accommodation facilities include hotels and similar accommodation facilities (motels, hostels and other hotel-type organizations), specialized accommodation facilities (health resort organizations, holiday homes, boarding houses, campsites, recreation centers, tourist camps, cruise and pleasure boats, railway sleeping wagons, land and water transport converted into accommodation facilities, also country health camps for kids are included.
The capacity of hotels and other similar collective accommodation facilities, part of which are regularly renovated, is one of the key factors shaping the demand for hospitality furniture, in the short to medium term.
