On July 30, 2025, Tashkent witnessed the official launch of SG Women, Uzbekistan’s first accelerator program entirely dedicated to supporting women and girls in technological entrepreneurship.
This initiative, backed by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is designed to cover all regions of the country, aiming at enhancing digital inclusivity and expanding women’s participation within the startup ecosystem.
The SG Women program offers structured education, mentoring support, practical business idea development, and community-building events. Participants will gain access to master classes, individual mentorship, and opportunities for public presentations of their projects. Top teams will receive ongoing support to scale their initiatives.
The program was presented during the Pitch & Rise event, co-organized with the Startup Garage platform. Women entrepreneurs showcased their startup projects, with finalists awarded by Kamola Sabirova, the Advisor to the Minister on Youth, Women, Freelancing, and promoting Uzbekistan as a regional IT hub.
“Uzbekistan is rapidly transforming, and women play a key role in these changes. From tech startups to digital solutions, they actively contribute to the country’s development. Women-focused programs demonstrate their readiness for leadership and innovation,” emphasized Kamola Sabirova.
SG Women is not limited to educational activities but also aims to establish a sustainable community: regular meetings, thematic podcasts featuring successful women entrepreneurs, and networking events that encourage experience exchange. The program prioritizes accessibility and regional reach, ensuring equal opportunities for women from all corners of the country, including remote areas.
“SG Women is not just an educational initiative. It is a platform for growth, confidence, and entrepreneurial leadership. We believe in the great potential of Uzbek women and are creating conditions for its realization,” stated Muhammad Khalil, founder of Startup Garage.
The launch of SG Women aligns with Uzbekistan’s priorities in digital transformation and sustainable development. The program represents an important step toward building a more inclusive and competitive innovation economy.
Overall, SG Women not only contributes toward a more inclusive tech-based economy but also creates a dynamic business environment where international actors can strategically engage with promising startups and expand their footprint in Central Asia’s growing markets.
