Where industrial scale meets the next design frontier

13-18 Apr 2027 • Salone del Mobile.Milano

Salone del Mobile.Milano will return to Fiera Milano Rho from 13 to 18 April 2027 for its 65th edition, positioning the event as a development platform for the furniture and design sector. The programme will build on the exhibition’s industrial foundation while expanding the ways in which it connects companies with markets, clients, expertise and professional communities.

The 2027 edition will introduce Salone Contract, present the second edition of Salone Raritas and continue the event’s international programme. The strategy responds to a market in which demand is more selective, exports are under pressure and companies need to cultivate high-quality relationships while pursuing international development. In this context, the Salone is presented not only as a product showcase, but also as a platform for business connections, knowledge exchange and professional engagement.

The core exhibition system will comprise the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0 and S.Project. These areas will be accompanied by Euroluce, Salone Contract, Salone Raritas and SaloneSatellite, while the World Tour will extend the event’s activities into international markets throughout the year.

An international industrial ecosystem

Companies remain at the centre of the Salone’s business model. Major international brands will be presented alongside smaller enterprises, family-run businesses and highly specialised manufacturers. Long-standing exhibitors, newcomers and returning companies will form a diverse mix of production cultures, skills and business models.

In 2026, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0 and S.Project brought together 915 exhibitors from 32 countries, with international companies accounting for 38.6 per cent of the total. The edition included 139 newcomers and returning brands. The event also welcomed 316,342 visitors from 167 countries, while international trade visitors represented 68 per cent of attendance.

These figures reflect the event’s dual role. For large groups, it provides a platform for positioning and product launches. For smaller specialist firms, it offers access to international networks that may be difficult to build independently. For returning exhibitors, it provides an opportunity to re-establish relationships, visibility and business opportunities.

Euroluce combines lighting business and culture

Euroluce will return as the biennial exhibition dedicated to lighting design. Its 2027 programme will address the expanding role of light in contemporary design, including research, technology, control systems, sustainability, artificial intelligence, wellbeing, natural light and the quality of spaces.

The exhibition model developed through The City of Lights in 2023 will continue to evolve. Instead of relying exclusively on a stand-centred layout, Euroluce uses an urban and human-centred approach intended to support company visibility while creating areas for interaction, knowledge-sharing and culture. The same model was used again in 2025.

The latest edition of Euroluce brought together 306 exhibitors, 45 per cent of them from abroad, including 75 newcomers and returning companies. The event represented both decorative and technical lighting, established sector participants and new international firms, as well as developments in materials research and technological innovation.

The second edition of The Euroluce International Lighting Forum, curated by Annalisa Rosso, will revisit the Light for Life. Light for Spaces concept. The interdisciplinary programme will examine light in relation to life, wellbeing, the environment, energy and nature, while also exploring its capacity to shape architecture and transform the perception, use, atmosphere and quality of spaces.

In 2027, the Forum will return to The Forest of Space, the Arena designed by Sou Fujimoto in 2025. Confirmed participants include Speirs Major Light Architecture, an independent lighting design practice with offices in London and Tokyo, and Fisher Marantz Stone, the New York-based lighting design firm. Speirs Major has received four Radiance Awards from the International Association of Lighting Designers and has contributed to projects including Westminster Abbey in London and the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Fisher Marantz Stone has worked since 1971 on projects including Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Shanghai Bund, Little Island and Tribute in Light in New York, and the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

Salone Contract targets complex projects

The main new feature of the 65th edition will be Salone Contract, a platform dedicated to a market in which value increasingly depends on the integration of products, services, expertise and project management. The initiative will address architects, interior designers, developers, investors, professional operators and clients working with requirements such as customisation, large volumes, deadlines, costs, logistics, installation, coordination and reliability.

Salone Contract will be organised as a specialised event for companies able to combine design quality, industrial capability and operational reliability. Its masterplan by Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten / OMA will replace a conventional sequence of stands with a trading floor structured around the Forum, the Podiums, the Project Spaces and the B2B areas. These spaces are intended for visibility, navigation, one-to-one meetings, project presentations, negotiations and business.

A partnership between Salone del Mobile.Milano and PwC will support the initiative with market knowledge, data and analytical tools. The cooperation will examine market dynamics, asset classes, geographies, demand patterns, investment and changes in client behaviour, while also addressing the capabilities required to move from product supply to project management and more structured B2B relationships.

PwC’s initial analysis estimates the potential global value of Contract FF&E supplies across the main asset classes at between 80 and 100 billion euros. The Americas account for an estimated 34.8 to 42.6 billion euros, followed by APAC at 27.9 to 34.2 billion euros and EMEA at 16.7 to 20.4 billion euros. Residential property is estimated at around 40 to 49 billion euros, offices at 17 to 21 billion euros, retail at 15 to 18 billion euros and hospitality at 7 to 9 billion euros.

The research will continue through proprietary studies and consultations with businesses in Milan, Padua and Rome. The Salone Contract international tour will also examine emerging contract-furniture markets and meet decision-makers. Shanghai on 21 October will focus on large-scale urban projects and mixed-use developments; London on 25 November will address the workplace; Miami in December will examine the marine sector; and Riyadh in January 2027 will focus on hospitality and major hotel and tourism development programmes.

Raritas expands its focus on collectible design

Following its debut in 2026, Salone Raritas will return for a second edition with a larger, more international programme dedicated to limited editions, one-off pieces, antiques and high-end creative craftsmanship. The first edition included 28 galleries from 12 countries and 59 designers.

Raritas is intended to connect special-edition production with the professional design market, including architects, interior designers, developers and hospitality professionals seeking distinctive objects for specific spaces. Curated by Annalisa Rosso, Editorial and Cultural Director-Advisor, with exhibition design by Formafantasma, the second edition will include India Mahdavi among its first announced participants. Mahdavi’s work spans architecture, interiors, furniture, objects and exhibition design, while her Paris Project Room supports unique pieces, limited editions and collaborations with craftspeople.

SaloneSatellite links emerging talent with industry

Founded and curated by Marva Griffin Wilshire, SaloneSatellite will remain a central element of the 2027 programme. Since 1998, the project has connected designers under 35 with manufacturers and the wider business community.

The SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection now includes 415 objects. Fifty-five of them travelled to Jakarta for the SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection Exhibition 1998–2026, held from 18 September to 18 October as part of Indonesia Design Week. The collection has previously been shown in Hong Kong in 2024 and at the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka. It is presented as a living archive of prototypes that became products, designer-company collaborations and projects that entered museums or the international design circuit.

World Tour extends the business network

The World Tour will continue to take the Salone to markets where demand is developing or becoming more complex. In Europe, activities will include London, Paris, Madrid and Hamburg, while the Asian programme will cover Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New Delhi and Bangalore. The United States and Canada will remain important because of their scale of demand and advanced design and contract segments. Riyadh, Lagos, Cape Town and Mexico City will provide access to markets shaped by investment, urban transformation and expanding professional communities.

The programme also includes a partnership with Art Basel, strengthening the Salone’s presence at Art Basel events in Miami Beach and Hong Kong and connecting design, art, collecting and project work. The World Tour is organised with the support of the Italian Trade Agency, the diplomatic and consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Its stated objective is to support the internationalisation of businesses while bringing market knowledge, relationships and new opportunities back to Milan.
