Innovative trade fair format draws global audience

Post-show report • ORGATEC 2024

ORGATEC 2024, the preeminent international trade fair for the future of work, has concluded its latest installment with impressive results. Held from October 22 to 25, the event showcased visionary concepts for modern work environments and attracted a significantly larger audience compared to its previous edition.

This year’s ORGATEC was marked by a redesigned layout that included Focus Areas centered on various key topics and the Work Culture Festival. The festival, in partnership with the German Interior Business Association (IBA), featured over 100 international speakers discussing the future of work across three main tracks: TEAM, IMPACT, and LIFE. The event was described as a resounding success by Helmut Link, President of the IBA, who noted, “The new trade fair concept is a complete success! With the Work Culture Festival, ORGATEC transformed itself into a real industry spectacle.”

The fair hosted 729 exhibitors from 40 countries who displayed their latest products and innovations across 140,000 square metres. An estimated 50,000 trade visitors from 126 countries engaged with the exhibits, reflecting a notable increase in attendance and underlining the event’s growing international significance. Gerald Böse, President and CEO of Koelnmesse, remarked, “The considerable increase in visitors underscores the international significance of this leading trade fair. ORGATEC has demonstrated yet again that Cologne is an outstanding venue for interior design trade fairs – impressive results can be achieved by working together.”

ORGATEC 2024 also introduced the Hybrid Interior Design format, which brought together aspects of home, hospitality, and office design, further enhancing the fair’s scope. This format provided a broad platform for premium brands to showcase their innovative designs.

The success of ORGATEC 2024 sends a strong message about the importance of trade fairs in fostering industry collaboration and innovation, particularly during challenging economic phases. With its focus on sustainable and technologically advanced work environments, ORGATEC continues to set benchmarks for the industry’s future.
