Hendrik Rawe has officially stepped into his new role as head of the “LIGNA, INTERSCHUTZ, parts2clean, and SurfaceTechnology GERMANY” department at Deutsche Messe’s Trade Fair & Product Management division, effective November 1, 2024. Rawe, 34, now oversees these key trade fairs, bringing a blend of strategic insight and operational expertise to Deutsche Messe, where he will report directly to Arno Reich, Senior Vice President of the division.
The team of seasoned project managers will continue to provide technical leadership across the trade fairs, with Stephanie Wagner leading LIGNA, Bernd Heinold managing INTERSCHUTZ, and Christoph Nowak overseeing both parts2clean and SurfaceTechnology GERMANY. Rawe takes over from Hendrik Engelking, who departed Deutsche Messe in late 2023.
Rawe’s professional journey began after earning his Master’s in Marketing and Sales Management from FHDW Hannover. He joined Koelnmesse as a trainee in 2015, later advancing to Junior Consultant in Corporate Development. At Koelnmesse, he contributed to the company’s M&A projects, developed strategic initiatives, and managed business planning and new event formats, adding a solid track record of digital transformation initiatives as a Digital Project Manager by 2021. His work included the rollout of digital products, helping Koelnmesse adapt to evolving industry demands and customer expectations.
Beyond his career achievements, Rawe has also been highly active in his community. Since his early days as a volunteer firefighter, he has demonstrated a commitment to public service, founding the Cologne Kalk fire brigade in 2017 and establishing its youth division in 2021. In recognition of his efforts, he was awarded the Cologne Volunteer Award in 2023. Before his move to Hanover, he held the role of senior fire inspector within the leadership of the Cologne Volunteer Fire Brigade.
