The 54th edition of one of Shanghai’s key furniture fairs has concluded, showcasing an impressive array of innovative designs and attracting a broad international audience. The event, themed “Design Empowerment – Dual Internal-External Drive,” took place at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai Hongqiao, featuring over 1,300 brands across a massive 300,000 square meters of exhibition space.
This year’s fair encompassed five distinct sections—Design Eden – Contemporary Design Trade Fair, Sofa Pavillon, Smart Sleep Pavillon, Living & Dining Rooms Furniture Pavillon, and more. It also hosted five key fairs, including CIFF WMF, CIFF Upholstery Tech, CIFF Offices & Public Spaces Exhibition, CIFF Urban Outdoor Furniture Exhibition, and CIFF Home Textiles & Accessories Lifestyle Exhibition. The event attracted a total of 89,433 trade visitors, including 10,486 from overseas, reflecting an 18.31% rise in international participation. This uptick signals Chinese companies’ growing emphasis on brand export rather than just product export.
Key highlights included a strong focus on originality, sustainability, and customization. Notable brands such as CAMERICH stood out for its zero-waste strategy through its ‘Transit Garden’ project, while HC28 Cosmo brought modular designs that reduce waste and enhance aesthetics. CHIC CASA, in collaboration with Rison Home, introduced high-end style with intricate details like mosaics and murals, and DAaZ impressed with minimalist designs featuring unconventional proportions.
The fair also highlighted broader cultural elements, with 15 curated exhibitions on topics ranging from design and pop culture to artificial intelligence and sleep, making it a significant hub for both business and lifestyle trends.
