A new initiative called LIGNA.Circular will debut at the 2025 edition of LIGNA, focusing on the circular transformation within the woodworking and wood processing industry. Running from May 26 to 30 in Hall 12, the event will revolve around the theme “Thinking in Circles” and is organized in collaboration with CADEMI, an experienced player in the furniture and furnishing sectors. Founders of CADEMI, Christof Flötotto and Andre Hempel, will lead the initiative.
LIGNA.Circular will align with the broader focus of LIGNA.SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION, which emphasizes economically viable solutions that protect both the environment and resources while improving work conditions in the industry. This initiative aims to create a network where industry professionals can share best practices, explore the potential of circular value creation, and discuss challenges.
Stephanie Wagner, Project Manager at Deutsche Messe AG, noted: “With LIGNA.Circular, we are highlighting a crucial topic for the industry — circularity and the resource cycle. The primary goal is to initially build an active community through moderated event formats, where best practices, potentials, and challenges related to circular value creation can be shared.”
LIGNA.Circular also aims to foster cooperation across various sectors to promote practical solutions, driving forward the circular transformation. Co-founder of CADEMI, Andre Hempel, emphasized the importance of a collective effort: “A sustainable, circular transformation requires commitment from partners across the entire stakeholder group. Above all, it requires the right mindset, skills, and methods.”
LIGNA.Circular aspires to serve as more than just a discussion platform, with the goal of becoming a catalyst for lasting sustainable development in the woodworking industry.
