The Malaysian International Furniture Fair’s 30th edition concluded successfully, demonstrating its role as a significant platform for exhibitors to present their latest offerings to an international audience and secure new business opportunities. The event, which ran from March 1 to 4, facilitated connections between 715 exhibitors from 15 different countries and regions with global buyers in search of high-quality furniture and reliable suppliers for both home and commercial products.
As Southeast Asia’s leading B2B furniture trade exhibition and the premier export hub for Malaysian wooden furniture, MIFF’s growing appeal to prominent buyers was evident. The 2024 edition saw a 6% increase in international attendees, with 5,419 visitors from 120 countries and regions contributing to a record US$1.28 billion in orders.
The show’s diversity was a highlight, with attendance from across Asia (68%), followed by North America, Europe, and Oceania, including a notable 43% of first-time attendees among the total 19,213 visitors.
Exhibitors spanned a wide array of countries, headlined by exhibitors from Malaysia as well as Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates and United States, showcasing everything from modern workplace solutions to home and lifestyle furniture across a 100,000 sqm area at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).
Enhancements such as the MIFF Furniverse app improved the visitor experience by offering easy navigation and updates on show events. Additionally, the show’s commitment to sustainability was showcased through a novel virtual tree campaign for which MIFF would plant a real tree for every six virtual trees planted, promising real-world environmental benefits.
Long-standing exhibitors and first-time visitors alike praised the fair’s effectiveness and welcoming atmosphere. Industry veterans highlighted MIFF’s role in driving sales and attracting serious buyers, while newcomers appreciated the variety and quality on display, as well as the opportunity for meaningful business discussions.
Informa Markets Malaysia, the organizer behind MIFF, anticipates next year’s event to continue delivering value to the international furniture community.
“This year’s show continues to highlight the fundamental role of MIFF in providing the international furniture industry with exceptional opportunities to do business and build valuable connections. Our new MIFF Furniverse app has elevated the experience for all participants because they are able to move faster and effectively through the show. We are thrilled to receive very strong rebookings for MIFF 2025, highlighting the importance of MIFF for exhibitors and buyers. And they can look forward to more quality and a better show next year,” said Ms Kelie Lim, General Manager of MIFF.
The next MIFF is scheduled for March 1 to 4 at the same prestigious venues, promising another year of unmatched business opportunities and industry insights.
