The upcoming imm cologne 2025 is set to reshape the interior design landscape with an innovative approach and a renewed focus on industry fundamentals. The event is introducing updated exhibitor packages and highlighting global trends alongside a strong presence from German companies, particularly in the Sleep segment. This year, eleven prominent German firms have confirmed their participation, marking a significant return after limited representation in previous editions. The fair’s focus on German excellence reaffirms its status as a key platform for the international interior design community.
“The requirements for what trade fairs should achieve have changed, as have the conditions in the industry,” states Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Trade Fair Management at Koelnmesse. “We have adapted our concept in close dialogue with our partners and exhibitors, and are pleased that our measures are pointing in the right direction. We are seeing initial successes in helping the imm cologne regain the importance it deserves and are seeing the first positive signals.”
The fair is divided into three main segments: Sleep, Home, and Pure, offering companies from across the furnishing sector an opportunity to present their offerings to an international audience and secure new business.
Strong German Presence in Sleep Segment
This year, the Sleep segment will see a significant boost with eleven German exhibitors, including Auping Germany, ergomed, Erich Werkmeister, and Schwarzwald Schlafsysteme. These companies were drawn to the “Excellence in Sleep” area, developed in collaboration with the German Mattress Industry Association. This area aims to highlight the high standards of German craftsmanship in sleep solutions. “The close cooperation between the Mattress Association and Koelnmesse has made a significant contribution to bringing the ‘Excellence in Sleep’ area back to the forefront,” says Martin Auerbach, Managing Director of the German Mattress Industry Association.
Home and Pure Segments Highlight Premium Offerings
The Home segment has already secured leading names such as Polipol, Furninova, and Skovby, among others. Bernd Sanden, Director of imm cologne, notes, “We’re delighted with the overwhelming interest in our new participation packages. The enthusiastic response indicates that we’ve struck the right chord, providing companies of all sizes with flexible solutions to engage successfully in the trade fair and achieve their business goals.”
Meanwhile, the Pure segment will continue its tradition of high-end design, with brands like raumplus, Willisau Group Switzerland, and Freifrau/Janua. The introduction of Circles, a unique exhibition concept, promises to enhance exhibitor visibility through engaging spaces complemented by catering services and speakers, ensuring high visitor engagement.
Flexible Participation Models
Koelnmesse has introduced a more flexible participation model for 2025, catering to a wide range of exhibitors. With all-in-one packages starting at under €10,000, even smaller enterprises can now afford to participate and showcase their innovations. Meanwhile, established brands can still opt for customized packages tailored to their specific needs.
Denmark Debuts as Partner Country
Denmark will debut as the partner country for imm cologne 2025, showcasing its rich tradition of craftsmanship and trend-setting design, from mid-century modern to hygge. Danish exhibitors will have their own Circle, providing a dedicated space for their work and highlighting the strong connection between Denmark and the interior design industry. Matthias Pollmann describes this collaboration as a “win-win,” with Denmark offering fresh insights while gaining international exposure at one of the most important global trade fairs.
