Claudia Maurer has been appointed as the new Director of spoga+gafa, effective from November 1, 2024. She succeeds Stefan Lohrberg in the role, bringing over 15 years of experience in executive positions across global trade fair and project management.
Maurer’s career includes significant experience in exhibitions, conferences, and corporate events, with a Certified Exhibition Management Professional qualification. Her career began at GE Healthcare, followed by various roles at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. For the past 15 years, she has been based in the USA, gaining project management expertise across both the trade fair organiser side and agency partner level. Most recently, Maurer worked as a Marketing Communications Event Consultant for Ecolab, overseeing over 75 events annually in the sectors of water, hygiene, and energy.

Maurer expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, saying, “I am looking forward to this new, exciting challenge and to implementing my many years of expertise in trade fair and project management. Together with the team, I will further strengthen spoga+gafa’s position as the largest garden and BBQ trade fair in the world and set new impulses for the exhibitors and visitors.”
With Maurer’s appointment, spoga+gafa aims to maintain its position as a leading international event in the garden and BBQ sectors.
