Interior finishing takes center stage in a reshaped flooring marketplace

17-20 Jan 2028 • DOMOTEX

DOMOTEX Hannover 2028 is set to return to the exhibition grounds in Hannover from 17 to 20 January 2028 with an expanded portfolio that further defines its role as the Home of Flooring & Interior Finishing. Around 100 international manufacturers have already registered during the initial phase, underlining strong commitment from across the flooring and interior finishing community.

Following the successful repositioning of DOMOTEX as the Home of Flooring & Interior Finishing, preparations for the 2028 edition are gaining momentum well ahead of time. “Many companies achieved outstanding trade fair results this year and have already registered again for the next edition due to the event’s great success. It is clearly evident that the industry supports the new direction of DOMOTEX” says Annette Levy, new Project Director of DOMOTEX.

From 17 to 20 January 2028, DOMOTEX will again occupy the Hannover exhibition grounds with a concept that moves beyond viewing flooring in isolation. The show increasingly embeds floor coverings in the broader context of modern interior spaces, adjacent trades, and new material worlds, reflecting how projects are planned and delivered in practice.

Strategic development around connected interior spaces

Building on its repositioning, DOMOTEX 2028 will once more strengthen the connection between flooring, walls, ceilings, and interior finishing. The event concept is being refined around holistic space ideas, bringing together products and solutions that interact within complete interior environments rather than standalone components.

This strategic development is closely aligned with current market and design trends, in which architects, interior designers, contractors, and specialist retailers seek integrated concepts and cross-disciplinary cooperation. DOMOTEX aims to provide a platform where these stakeholders can explore how floor, wall, and ceiling systems combine with finishes, acoustics, and colour schemes to deliver coherent and functional spaces.

Portfolio expansion with new segments and applications

In 2028, DOMOTEX will broaden its established flooring focus by placing greater emphasis on additional areas of modern interior construction and finishing. Cast flooring and screed solutions will be firmly integrated into the exhibition portfolio, adding relevant applications for commercial, contract, and interior fit-out projects where performance, durability, and installation efficiency are critical.

Wall design will also assume a more prominent role within the show. Paints, wallpapers, and acoustic elements will be more strongly embedded in the exhibition concept, complementing the flooring offering with aesthetic and functional solutions for contemporary spaces. By bringing together these product groups, DOMOTEX 2028 aims to reflect the reality of design and construction processes, where surfaces and finishes are chosen in combination rather than in isolation.

Through these additions, DOMOTEX 2028 is already sending a clear signal: the event continues to evolve — internationally, across trades and disciplines, and with a clear focus on the future of interior finishing. Exhibitors and visitors can expect a more comprehensive view of the interior project chain, from substrate preparation through to visible design elements.

Strengthened cooperation with the European parquet industry

The successful partnership established in 2026 with the European parquet industry federation (FEP) will be continued and further expanded for DOMOTEX 2028. The European parquet industry will once again be given a prominent platform at the trade fair, presenting its products and innovations alongside other leading international manufacturers.

By deepening this cooperation, DOMOTEX underscores the importance of parquet within the broader flooring and interior finishing landscape and supports the industry in addressing design, sustainability, and technical performance issues at an international level.
