A high-profile delegation from Navoi region has secured significant agreements during its visit to China, establishing permanent infrastructure for trade and attracting commitments for major manufacturing investments. The visits to Beijing, Tianjin, Fuzhou, and Nanyang have solidified Uzbekistan’s position as an emerging hub for industrial production and regional logistics.
Manufacturing and energy-efficient materials production
One of the most significant outcomes centers on energy-efficient building materials production. During negotiations with Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd., officials agreed to establish manufacturing facilities in Navoi region using Chinese capital. The project addresses the growing demand for sustainable construction solutions across Central Asia, positioning Navoi as a regional production base for materials that meet modern building standards and environmental requirements.
The delegation also secured additional orders during discussions with Yutong, committing to supply 42 buses by September 2026, indicating sustained demand for transport solutions in the region.
Export infrastructure and marble market expansion
Perhaps the most tangible victory came in Nanyang, where Chinese city authorities allocated a dedicated exhibition and trade zone exclusively for Navoi region products. This permanent showroom becomes a distribution center for marble and granite produced in Navoi, with products now accessible to global markets through e-commerce platforms operated from the Chinese facility. The arrangement bypasses temporary exhibition arrangements and establishes year-round market access — a crucial development for Navoi’s construction material exports.
Regional representation and logistics hub status
The delegation completed its China mission by establishing a permanent representative office in Tianjin, headed by Chinese entrepreneur Liu Wei. This office will facilitate ongoing business partnerships and serve as a liaison between Navoi enterprises and Chinese market participants. Simultaneously, officials confirmed that Navoi region itself functions as a comprehensive investment platform — the entire region holds free economic zone status, offering multiple incentives. Tax and customs benefits combine with ready infrastructure including an international airport, modern cargo terminal, developed rail and highway logistics networks, and proximity to raw material sources and foreign markets accessible via overland transport.
Collaborative opportunities in digitalization and construction
Meetings with provincial authorities in Fuzhou resulted in additional commitments. Officials agreed to expand cooperation in digitalization, construction, and chemical industries. The delegation studied operations of Chinese companies Qunfeng and KOMOO, identifying technological solutions applicable to Navoi’s industrial expansion. Simultaneously, partnerships with Nanyang authorities included agreements on personnel exchange and knowledge transfer with a stone processing industry training center jointly operated by municipal government and Huaqiao University.
Strategic positioning for international business
For international companies in manufacturing, construction materials, design, and trade, Navoi region now represents a substantively upgraded entry point into Central Asian markets. The establishment of permanent Chinese infrastructure and manufacturing partnerships signals serious intent to integrate local production into broader Asian supply chains. The free economic zone status, combined with newly formalized logistics corridors and dedicated export channels through Chinese distribution networks, creates genuine competitive advantages. Companies specializing in construction materials, energy-efficient technologies, marble and granite processing, or regional logistics now face markedly improved conditions for expanding operations or establishing new ventures in Uzbekistan, with clear pathways to both local markets and Chinese-coordinated export infrastructure.
