United Arab Emirates business council in Dubai deepens trade and investment ties with Uzbekistan

A new Uzbekistan Business Council has been launched in Dubai, opening a dedicated platform for direct dialogue between entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates and signaling a fresh phase of trade and investment cooperation between Central Asia and the Gulf region.

New bilateral platform for trade and investment

The initiative was driven by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan in the United Arab Emirates, the Embassy of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Uzbek business community, with the support of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The council is designed as a practical mechanism where Uzbek and Dubai based companies can meet, negotiate and shape new cross border projects — without lengthy bureaucratic detours.

The council will focus on strengthening trade and investment ties, searching for new partners and promoting joint initiatives across key sectors such as manufacturing, construction, transport and logistics, hospitality and tourism. It will also facilitate the exchange of market information and business experience, helping companies on both sides understand regulatory requirements, financing tools and project implementation risks.

The first meeting of the council took place at the headquarters of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, bringing together Uzbek entrepreneurs, Emirati investors and local business associations. Discussions centered on new commercial opportunities, expanding mutual investments, organizing joint business events and creating a predictable environment for long term cooperation.

Solid economic base for expansion

The new council rests on an already substantial economic foundation. In Uzbekistan, more than 450 companies operate with capital from the United Arab Emirates, reflecting growing Emirati interest in the country’s industrial and infrastructure modernization. Over the past three years, investments from the Emirates into Uzbekistan have reached around three billion United States dollars, financing projects in energy, transport corridors, industrial production and urban development.

Trade flows are also on the rise. In 2025, bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates amounted to about one point two billion United States dollars. For Central Asia, this is an important corridor linking regional manufacturers and logistics operators with global distribution hubs in the Gulf, where Dubai functions as a key gateway for re export, warehousing and multimodal transport.

Growing presence of Uzbek companies in Dubai

Uzbek business activity in Dubai is accelerating. By the end of last year, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce counted 826 active Uzbek companies, an increase of over twenty percent compared with the previous year. In the first half of 2026 alone, another 75 Uzbek firms joined the chamber, confirming sustained interest in using Dubai as a base for international operations.

These companies are active in areas ranging from trade and logistics to construction, design and services for hospitality and tourism. By clustering in Dubai, Uzbek entrepreneurs gain access to advanced port and airport infrastructure, regional financial markets and a dense network of global partners. The new council provides them with a collective voice — helping to identify regulatory bottlenecks, convey market demands back to Tashkent and coordinate participation in large projects in Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region.

Long term mechanism for project development

The creation of the Uzbekistan Business Council establishes a permanent mechanism for building direct links between entrepreneurs and investors from both countries. It is expected to support the promotion of new industrial and infrastructure projects, strengthen long term trade partnerships and help align investment interests with Uzbekistan’s national development programs and Dubai’s role as a global commercial hub.

Regular meetings, sector specific working groups and joint trade missions will make it easier to structure complex projects in areas such as industrial park development, construction of logistics centers, modernization of hotel and hospitality infrastructure, and localization of production of building materials, furniture and home interiors in Uzbekistan for regional distribution via Dubai.

Why this matters for international furniture and construction businesses

For international companies in furniture manufacturing, construction materials, interior and exterior design, home appliances and architecture, the new Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai offers a structured entry point into a transforming Central Asian market. Through the council, foreign brands can connect with Uzbek partners, explore joint ventures in local production, leverage Dubai’s logistics and financial ecosystem, and participate in large scale urban and tourism projects in Uzbekistan. Even for firms not yet present in the country, this development enhances the overall investment climate and makes it easier to integrate Uzbekistan into regional supply chains that link manufacturing in Central Asia with global buyers via the United Arab Emirates.
