Uzbekistan launches first trade house in Berlin to boost German market access

Uzbekistan has opened its first official trade house and showroom in the heart of Berlin, creating a direct gateway for domestic manufacturers to reach German and German-speaking markets. Housed in the prestigious Adlon hotel near the Brandenburg Gate, UZ Trade House Germany now serves as a permanent exhibition space for Uzbek exports spanning textiles, electronics, construction materials, and design products.

A strategic foothold in Europe’s industrial heartland

The trade house functions as the official representation of Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany, positioning itself as a bridge for business cooperation between the two nations. Uzbek companies can now leverage this platform to showcase their goods under the Made in Uzbekistan brand, access German investment opportunities, and facilitate technology transfer arrangements. The location itself speaks volumes about strategic intent — nestled in Berlin’s premium business district, the showroom provides immediate credibility and visibility to international partners seeking reliable Central Asian suppliers.

According to the trade house director, the initiative addresses a critical gap in Uzbekistan’s export infrastructure. “UZ Trade House Germany serves as a bridge between Uzbek and German companies, promoting Made in Uzbekistan products on the German market and strengthening business cooperation between our two countries,” the director explained. The facility enables Uzbek enterprises to export directly to Germany and other German-speaking nations while simultaneously attracting foreign capital and technological expertise into the domestic economy.

Official backing and business community engagement

The trade house opening ceremony in early December drew participation from high-level officials and business representatives. Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Germany, along with leaders from Germany’s federal small and medium business association and Bundestag members focused on economic affairs, attended the event. These figures underscored the political and commercial importance both nations assign to deepening trade ties and investment flows.

Context for international investors

For international companies in manufacturing, construction, textiles, electronics, and design seeking to source from Central Asia or establish regional operations, this development signals Uzbekistan’s commitment to institutional reform supporting business. The trade house represents more than symbolism — it reflects concrete steps to reduce export friction, streamline market access, and create legitimate channels for commercial engagement. With bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Germany exceeding 850 million dollars annually, the infrastructure upgrade positions both economies to capture additional value from growing cross-border commerce. Furniture makers, construction firms, and interior design brands eyeing Central Asian supply chains or distribution networks now have an established reference point for vetting and partnering with Uzbek producers operating under quality and compliance standards validated by the chamber itself.
