Uzbekistan creates international cooperation platform at Islamic Civilization Center

Uzbekistan is transforming its highly anticipated Islamic Civilization Center into a diplomatic powerhouse, dedicating an entire floor to fostering international partnerships and cultural exchanges. The ambitious project, spearheaded by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, positions Tashkent as a emerging hub for cross-cultural dialogue and business cooperation across Central Asia and beyond.

The second floor of the Center is being meticulously designed as a comprehensive international platform aimed at bridging nations and advancing humanitarian collaboration. This strategic move signals Uzbekistan’s growing confidence in its role as a regional facilitator for international business and cultural partnerships.

Thirteen pathways to global partnership

The exhibition space will feature thirteen carefully curated thematic blocks, each highlighting the rich tapestry of cultural and scientific connections between Uzbekistan and key international partners. These partnerships span from European nations to fellow Islamic countries, creating a comprehensive network of opportunities for international businesses and investors.

Among the confirmed exhibition blocks are Uzbek-Hungarian relations showcased through the travels of Armin Vambery, the ambitious “90-Volume Series: Cultural Heritage” demonstrating international scholarly cooperation, and the Uzbekistan-Italy dialogue of civilizations through the “Fortress of Kahri” project. The exhibition will also celebrate the early 20th century Jadid movement and the legacy of Khudoybergan Devonov, alongside the heritage of the great Timurids and Bobokhanovs.

Particularly significant for regional business development is the dedicated block focusing on the culture of Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states, which opens doors for enhanced trade relationships across the Islamic world. The collaboration with TURKSOY further strengthens Uzbekistan’s position within the Turkic business community.

Cutting-edge technology meets traditional diplomacy

Each thematic block will be equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia technologies, creating dynamic international platforms through videos, photographs, postcards, and artistic exhibits. The multilingual presentation of information materials ensures accessibility for international visitors and business delegations, removing language barriers that often complicate cross-border partnerships.

The Center represents a concrete manifestation of President Mirziyoyev’s vision to promote enlightened Islam as a religion of goodness, peace, and tolerance. The facility, which houses a comprehensive museum, is scheduled to open its doors at the end of August 2025, coinciding with Uzbekistan’s continued economic liberalization efforts.

For international companies exploring opportunities in Central Asian markets, this development represents a significant milestone in Uzbekistan’s commitment to transparent, culturally-sensitive business relationships. The Center’s international focus creates unprecedented networking opportunities for foreign investors, particularly those in sectors requiring deep cultural understanding and local partnerships. The multilingual, multimedia approach to showcasing international cooperation demonstrates Uzbekistan’s sophisticated understanding of modern business communication needs.

Moreover, the strategic partnerships highlighted in the exhibition — spanning from European economies like Hungary and Italy to the broader Islamic world — signal clear pathways for international businesses seeking regional market entry. The Center’s role as a cultural bridge-builder removes traditional barriers that have historically complicated business relationships between Western companies and Central Asian markets, creating a more welcoming environment for international investment and trade development.
