Uzbekistan to establish a special company to promote local brands abroad

Uzbekistan is set to create a new trade development company, replacing current agencies and funds responsible for increasing the number of exporters. The company will work with foreign designers, technologists, and marketers to ensure local products meet international standards and help promote Uzbek brands in global markets.

During a presentation to the president on March 12, it was announced that the new company will have the authority to issue subsidies, compensations, and other forms of support based on a sustainability rating of businesses.

As part of broader economic reforms, the government plans to consolidate regional production, industrial zones, and export activities into a unified system. Additionally, 12 sectoral and industrial associations will be transferred under the jurisdiction of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Business support requests will be managed by a self-regulating organization of entrepreneurs, rather than state agencies, to expedite solutions for issues that are most pressing to the business community.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to actively engage regional entrepreneurs in the production of export-oriented goods.
