The city of New Tashkent will be designed for 800,000 residents

The project for New Tashkent was presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 10. The city is planned to be built to the east of the capital on 20,000 hectares of land in the Tashkent region, between the Chirchik and Karasu rivers.

Many social and economic facilities have been built in the current Tashkent, but the population is growing, and with it, the burden on infrastructure is increasing. The authorities are tasked with preserving the architectural appearance of the capital and moving future construction beyond its limits.

New Tashkent is intended to become an administrative and economic center. It will house ministries and departments, higher education institutions, medical organizations, a theater, a library, hotels, housing, and parks. The area of green zones will be 363 hectares.
