At the Uzbek-Egyptian business forum agreements worth $1.6 billion were signed

The meeting was held in Cairo, where President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived on February 20 on an official visit. “Egyptian companies have every opportunity to jointly implement large investment programs in our country,” the President of Uzbekistan stressed.

The business forum was held on the eve of the visit. According to the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, it was attended by heads of relevant ministries, departments and industry associations, as well as about 200 representatives of business circles of the two countries.

They agreed on the implementation of joint projects, including in the energy and construction industries, in the field of industrial zones. A number of signed investment agreements and trade contracts provide for the creation of Uzbek textile enterprises in Port Said for the subsequent export of their products to Africa and the Middle East.
