The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) concluded its 2025 edition with strong performance across all key metrics, reinforcing its position as Southeast Asia’s leading furniture sourcing hub. Held from 1–4 March across the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), the show recorded USD 1.31 billion in estimated on-site sales — a 3% increase over the previous year — amid high buyer confidence and active trading.
A total of 742 exhibitors participated, reflecting a 3.8% year-on-year increase, and including companies from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, India, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. With its strong focus on wooden furniture exports and the region’s largest office furniture showroom, MIFF continues to serve as a vital export platform for the Malaysian industry.
The fair welcomed 19,556 trade visitors from 120 countries and regions, with 5,606 international buyers, up 3.4% from 2024. Notable growth was observed from markets in North America (Canada, Mexico), Europe (including Türkiye), and key parts of Asia. The top five buyer countries included the United States, China, India, Japan, and Singapore.
“The growth in exhibitor numbers and the strong turnout from both local and international buyers affirm MIFF’s reputation as a key player in the global furniture market,” said Kelie Lim, General Manager of MIFF.
Sustainability and digital innovation were central to this year’s edition. The newly upgraded MIFF Furniverse 2.0 introduced a more efficient, paper-reducing digital experience through interactive floor plans, AI-powered lead retrieval, and matchmaking features. “The response to MIFF Furniverse 2.0 was encouraging, suggesting strong potential for digital solutions in trade show environments,” added Lim.
Exhibitors confirmed the platform’s value in reaching global audiences. Chris Tan of Chuanheng Furniture noted MIFF as a launchpad for new designs aimed at Gen Y and Z. Kenny Wong of Winner Office Network reported strong buyer interest from the US, India, the Philippines, and Africa, with some orders confirmed onsite.
First-time visitor Grant Elsenpeter, CEO of Simply Built, praised the range and quality of suppliers, calling MIFF “a fantastic sourcing hub” for his US-based e-commerce business. Manju Sharma, CEO of Marvell Furniture, echoed the fair’s enduring relevance: “After 25 years, MIFF still feels like home. We keep coming back for its innovation and styles that resonate with the Indian market.”
MIFF will return from 4–7 March 2026, promising an even stronger platform for sourcing, innovation, and international trade, once again bringing the global furniture industry together in Kuala Lumpur.
