The early-bird registration period for interzum 2027 has concluded with strong results, with more than ninety-three per cent of exhibition space already booked for the May event in Cologne. This advance commitment reflects the furniture and interior design industry’s confidence in the world-leading trade fair and its role as a critical platform for the sector.
Strong early-bird response
The early-bird phase ended at the end of October 2025, and organizers report successful booking results with exhibitors representing a broad spectrum of companies already confirmed for the event. The exhibition line-up includes virtually all major global players as well as numerous long-standing and returning exhibitors. This diversity of market participants demonstrates interzum’s continued strength as a focal point for the furniture production and interior design industry.
Industry commitment and returning participants
Several companies that have previously participated in interzum are returning for the next edition, including Sonae Arauco, Surteco and Losán Spain. Oliver Frese, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, emphasizes the significance of this trend: “The willingness of a diverse array of exhibitors to confirm their participation at an early stage, coupled with the high number of returnees, means that all those attending the trade fair can get a head start with their preparations and clearly demonstrates the collective resilience and confidence of suppliers to the furniture and interior design industry.”
Sector outlook
The strong early-booking performance builds on interzum 2025’s significant success, which attracted approximately 60,000 trade visitors from 157 countries and over 1,600 exhibitors from 57 countries. Dr Andreas Hettich, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Hettich Group and Chairman of the Specialist Advisory Board of interzum, states: “As the world’s foremost gathering for the furniture industry, interzum plays a crucial role in driving its progress, and we’re already excited about the next edition in 2027.”
Claudia Küchen, Chief Creative Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer at Schattdecor and Deputy Chairwoman of the interzum Advisory Board, notes: “The diversity and innovative strength of international suppliers in the industry is showcased more comprehensively in Cologne than anywhere else. interzum 2027 is set to be another must-attend event for anyone looking to discover the latest trends and innovations in furniture production and interior design.”
interzum 2027 will take place from 11 to 14 May in Cologne.
