From January 19 to 22, 2026, DOMOTEX will open its doors in Hannover with an expanded concept positioning itself as the platform for flooring and interior finishing. Beyond its established reputation as Europe’s leading trade fair for floor coverings, the event now integrates interior finishing solutions within a unified marketplace. The expansion encompasses new product categories – coatings, wallpapers, acoustic elements, tiles, outdoor floor coverings, and privacy shields – creating synergies and attracting a broader range of participants from retail, craft, and architecture sectors.
The Retailers Park represents a defining achievement for the 2026 edition. Organized in collaboration with the MEGA Group and DECOR-UNION, this fully booked area provides trade visitors from retail and craft sectors access to products, concepts, and services supporting floor coverings and interior finishing solutions. Running concurrently, The Work Shop delivers specialist presentations and discussion panels offering practical guidance for craftsmen and specialist companies.
Strong Industry Participation Confirms Fair’s Relevance
The participation of established manufacturers reinforces the fair’s standing. Kährs, a leading parquet flooring producer, returns to the fair after an extended absence. It joins established names including Weitzer Parkett, ter Hürne, Mafi, Stile, Design Parquet, and Flo.it in showcasing parquet innovations. The newly integrated product categories attract recognized companies such as Lanxess, AkzoNobel, Saint-Gobain, Meffert, Erfurt Tapeten, GARDINIA Home Decor, Dumaplast, Keim Farben, and Ecophon.
Digital Solutions Take Center Stage
Digital innovation constitutes a significant focus area. The Innovation Parcours explores emerging technologies including AI applications, chatbots, digital planning tools, and process optimization. The newly established Digital Shop presents software solutions tailored to tradespeople – floor layers, painters, and interior decorators – addressing workflow challenges in data management, project coordination, and operational efficiency.
John Herbert, General Secretary of the European DIY Retail Association and the Global Home Improvement Network, underscores the fair’s strategic importance: “Our members at the European DIY Retail Association and Global Home Improvement Network look forward to visiting DOMOTEX in Hannover, Germany, from 19–22 January 2026. As global supply networks evolve, diversified sourcing is crucial. DOMOTEX, as a leading international trade fair, provides a key platform for networking with manufacturers worldwide. Already the number one trade fair for flooring, DOMOTEX has expanded to include paints, wallpapers, acoustic elements, tiles, outdoor flooring, and shading solutions, solidifying its role in interior finishing. Trade fairs like DOMOTEX are essential for industry success, offering opportunities to discover innovations and connect with suppliers.”
The convergence of fully booked retail areas, expanded product portfolios, and integrated digital tools reflects the sector’s evolving requirements. Participants from retail, craft, and architecture backgrounds will encounter current market trends, establish business relationships, and contribute to the direction of interior finishing solutions.
