The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2025 is set to usher in Asia’s furniture buying season from March 1–4, 2025, at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL). With preparations in full swing, the show will span 100,000 square meters across 17 exhibition halls and feature close to 700 exhibitors from 12 countries, with the number still climbing.
Renowned as Southeast Asia’s largest furniture event, MIFF expects to attract 20,000 attendees from 140 countries, bolstered by 8,500 pre-registrations from 115 nations so far. With a surge in first-time visitors attending the show in recent years, MIFF is extending its popular Valued Visitor Privilege (VVP) hosted buyer programme which offers free accommodation to early-bird newcomers.
“It is vital that we remain open and welcoming to professionals from across the globe. By doing so, we can explore new opportunities, stay relevant, and add value to businesses while reinforcing MIFF’s pivotal role in the global supply chain,” said Dato’ Dr. Tan Chin Huat, MIFF Founder and Chairman.
Expanding the showcase of global furniture innovation
MIFF stands out for its diverse range of offerings, including a strong emphasis on Malaysia’s solid wood furniture and the MIFF OFFICE segment, the largest workspace solutions showcase in the region.
Key exhibitors include prominent Malaysian exporters such as Ecomate, Merryfair, Wegmans, Poh Huat, WA Furniture, Favourite Design, Triswift,
Inspiwood, SWS, and Johann & Joann.
A notable highlight for 2025 is the introduction of more sustainable furniture options, including products made from regenerated oil palm waste, a collaboration between Japan’s Panasonic Housing Solutions and Malaysia’s Shantawood. These innovations align with growing global demand for eco-conscious furniture solutions.
Specialized halls and programs to elevate engagement
Among the attractions, the Muar Hall, organized by the Muar Furniture Association (MFA), will spotlight Malaysia’s premium furniture exports and sustainable practices. The designRena Hall will showcase top-tier Malaysian designs, reflecting the country’s craftsmanship.
The upgraded MIFF Furniverse App 2.0 will simplify navigation and facilitate connections between buyers and exhibitors, ensuring a seamless experience across both venues.
Celebrating design excellence and creativity
This year’s MIFF Furniture Design Competition (MIFF FDC) will announce the winner of its “The Fashion Inspired Furniture” theme, chosen from a record-breaking 335 entries. Looking ahead, the 2026 competition will see the MFA joining as an event partner, introducing advanced design prototyping for display.
Two additional highlights include the launch of KL iDesign Week, a collaboration with Guangzhou Design Week to enhance Asian design visibility globally, and the return of the MFID Awards (My Favourite International Design), spotlighting exceptional interior and architectural designs.
Driving sustainability and innovation
Industry leaders like the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) and Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) will focus on advancing green practices at MIFF, supporting the sustainable growth of the furniture industry.
With robust participation and expanded offerings, MIFF 2025 is set to strengthen its position as a vital hub for furniture innovation, trade, and sustainable practices in Asia and beyond.
