Putting spotlight on sustainability

22-25 Oct 2024 • ORGATEC

Set to unfold from 22nd to 25th October 2024, ORGATEC, in collaboration with CADEMI, is gearing up to showcase #TheCircularHouse within Hall 4.2 at the Cologne exhibition center. This innovative 500 m² space aims to shed light on the principles of the circular economy, demonstrating the synergy between various stakeholders and championing sustainable business practices within the office furniture sector.

As the premier global exposition on the “Future of Work,” this year’s ORGATEC introduces a refreshed layout, featuring strategically placed “Focus Areas” across the exhibition halls. Among these, #TheCircularHouse stands out, conceptualized and managed by “CADEMI – Academy and Community for Circular Transformation.” This initiative marks a continuation of the Furniture 4.0 project, a joint effort by Koelnmesse and CADEMI since ORGATEC 2022, supported by ministries, associations, and partners from academia, services, recycling, industry, and commerce. This initiative has already led to two successful Circular Cooperation Network Days (CCND), a workshop and conference series under Furniture 4.0.

Exploring Future Prospects with #TheCircularHouse

With the urgent need for circular economic models fueled by legislative mandates and the aspirations of future generations, #TheCircularHouse is a pivotal platform offering insights into sustainable business strategies essential for CO2 neutrality and environmental preservation. It serves as a beacon for companies seeking to innovate through circular services, providing a competitive edge in the marketplace. The area is designed to impart both a broad understanding and specialized knowledge on circular transformation, complemented by a rich conference program.

Dynamic Presentations and Experiential Displays

The centerpiece of #TheCircularHouse is the “Circle Lounge,” the venue for the third CCND workshops and presentations. An interactive journey encircles the lounge, offering participants a quick, comprehensive view of the circular ecosystem and its methodologies. Nearby, “brand platforms” display the innovative products and services of exhibitors. Among the notable participants is Concular, a trailblazer in circular construction, highlighting the connection between architectural and interior design. Additional expertise is provided by Effizienz-Agentur NRW and the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry for the Environment, focusing on circular and modular design and service development. The exhibit is divided into four key sections: Design and Production, Service and Services, Usage and Business Models, as well as Logistics and Mobility.

A Convergence Point for Cross-Industry Collaboration

TheCircularHouse invites professionals committed to sustainability and innovative workplace design to foster a sustainable future. It’s a melting pot for manufacturers, retailers, service providers, and experts in product innovation, service design, and management. This collaborative environment encourages the sharing of ideas and the cultivation of futuristic concepts. The ultimate aim is to forge sustainable office and workspaces that seamlessly integrate into daily practices, heralding a new era of environmental responsibility in the workplace.
