The inaugural edition of interzum forum italy, which took place in Bergamo, has marked a notable success in the furniture and interior design supplier sector. This new event, slated to occur biennially, has emerged as a key gathering for industry professionals, with its strategic location in the Bergamo and Brianza furniture districts providing optimal accessibility from across Europe.
The event attracted significant international participation, drawing 4,820 visitors from 52 countries, of which 20% were international attendees, and featuring 216 exhibitors from 24 countries, 36% of whom were from outside Italy. The top visitor countries included Germany, Poland, Spain, France, Belgium, the UK, Serbia, Turkey, and Switzerland.
Thomas Rosolia, CEO of Koelnmesse Italia and organizer of the event, expressed his satisfaction with the forum’s premiere: “The premiere of the interzum forum italy has exceeded all expectations. We were thrilled by the high number of visitors and also the quality was high and accorded perfectly with the event’s target goals. We were extremely pleased by the interest shown by sector companies who welcomed the new trade fair format enthusiastically and many of these took an active part in the event’s conference program. Figures for this very first edition of the event have shown that we are on the right track and have successfully taken on board the market’s demand for a two-yearly event alternating with interzum cologne. On the strength of event feedback, we are already working on the 2026 edition.”

The event’s conference program was robust, featuring 30 events and over 60 speakers from Italy and beyond, discussing current trends, materials, and production processes with a focus on environmental sustainability. The opening roundtable discussion, Business Outlook. Global Innovation and Local Production, featured prominent industry figures such as Lorenzo Tavazzi, Jörg Buck, Edi Snaidero, Alessandra Tracogna, Piero Paganoni, Roger Reichert, and Alfonso Tentori, who shared insights into the evolving furniture market.
Additionally, the interzum forum italy award 2024 was a highlight of the event, with 7 firms being recognized for their innovations and commitments to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. The awards were presented during a gala dinner at the Hotel San Marco in Bergamo.
Looking ahead, the next edition of interzum forum italy is scheduled for June 4-5, 2026, again in Bergamo, promising to further build on the success of this year’s event.
