Inaugural edition of the interzum showcase as part of IFFINA in Indonesia

14-17 Sep 2024 • IFFINA & interzum SEA

Indonesia is gearing up to welcome the first-ever interzum SEA showcase this September, a milestone event powered by a strategic collaboration between the Indonesia Furniture Industry and Handicraft Association (ASMINDO), IFFINA, and Koelnmesse. Set as part of the prestigious IFFINA – Indonesia Meubel & Design Expo at ICE BSD City, this event, scheduled from 14-17 September 2024, promises to be a melting pot for furniture production and interior design aficionados from Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asian region. Mirroring the success of a similar concept at ORGATEC TOKYO, interzum SEA is poised to spotlight the latest in industry trends and innovations.

Indonesia’s furniture sector, expected to grow at an impressive CAGR of 6.39% from 2024 to 2032, stands at the forefront of global furniture manufacturing. Renowned for its rich timber resources, skilled craftsmanship, and competitive manufacturing costs, the country is well-positioned as a key player in the international market.

Mr. Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and VP Asia Pacific of Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, shared his enthusiasm about the launch: “This partnership signifies our shared commitment to advancing the Indonesian furniture industry. The showcase provides a unique platform to spotlight cutting-edge trends and solutions, redefining the landscape of furniture production and interior design in this dynamic market.” He added, “We are delighted to announce that some key industry brands have already committed to joining the exhibition, adding substantial depth and expertise to the showcase.”

The interzum SEA showcase will feature innovative solutions across five main segments: Function & Components, Textile & Home Fabrics, Lights and Lighting Systems, Materials & Nature, and Flooring, ensuring a comprehensive representation of the industry’s breadth and depth.

Dedy Rochimat, Chairman of ASMINDO, expressed his optimism about the collaboration: “This strategic partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing Southeast Asia’s furniture industry, fostering innovation, and shaping a dynamic future for furniture production and interior design.” He also highlighted the expected positive impact of the event, saying, “IFFINA will bring together a vibrant tapestry of industry players, designers, and artisans, serving as a dynamic platform for creativity and business collaboration.”

With over 100 leading brands and an anticipated 15,000 trade visitors from across Southeast Asia, the debut of the interzum SEA showcase, alongside the seventh edition of IFFINA, is set to mark a significant milestone for the region’s furniture industry.
