Frankfurt textile fair expands carpet and rug showcase

14-17 Jan 2025 • Heimtextil

The carpet and rug segment at Heimtextil 2025 is experiencing unprecedented growth, with the number of exhibitors already more than doubling compared to the previous year. This surge in participation highlights Frankfurt as a pivotal annual destination for the global carpet industry, reflecting a strong market demand for a central, international platform.

Bettina Bär, Director of Heimtextil, shared her enthusiasm about the sector’s response: “We are very pleased about this signal from the market. It clearly reflects the industry’s need for a strong, international and central carpet platform. This is exactly what we offer with Heimtextil in Frankfurt: a comprehensive market overview and a bundled product range combined with the highest quality. We have listened to the market and taken on board the feedback. Now it’s a matter of expanding the range, organising it in a structured way and presenting it to visitors in a structured manner.”

In 2025, the expansion of Heimtextil will include an entire additional hall level, with Hall 5.0 dedicated to high-quality hand-woven carpets and international country pavilions. Meanwhile, Hall 5.1 will continue to house machine-woven carpets and will feature an enlarged pre-production offering that includes fibres, yarns, and specific technologies for the carpet industry.

The event will also showcase hand-knotted carpets, unique pieces, doormats, clean-off systems, and textile solutions for outdoor areas and contract businesses. A collaborative area is planned with Ragolle Rugs and the Belgian association Fedustria, which will feature a joint presentation by prominent exhibitors from Belgium.

Many renowned companies have already confirmed their participation for 2025, including Bhadohi Carpets, Balta Home, and Kaleen Lifestyle from India, who will be exhibiting for the first time. Returning participants include Lalee OHG from Germany, Heritage Overseas, Mittal International, Oriental Weavers Group, Ragolle Rugs, Rugs in Style, The Rug Republic, Tufko International, Universal XXI, and Vini Décor.

Yasmine Khamis, Chairwoman of the Oriental Weavers Group, reflected on their positive experience: “Our first participation in this year’s Heimtextil was a success; Heimtextil represents a destination for textile innovations in the home textiles industry, trends, sustainable impulses, and a variety of unique opportunities for our business. We benefited from excellent introductions and numerous new international contacts. We look forward to participating again in 2025.”

Manmohan Sharma, Founding Partner of Mittal International, also highlighted the benefits of the Frankfurt venue: “We really appreciate the initiative taken by Messe Frankfurt in launching the Carpets & Rugs segment at Heimtextil. The concept was convincing across the board and met the needs of the industry. We had a successful start, a good influx of customers and also received orders from the USA and Mexico. Carpets & Rugs as a new platform for the carpet industry is a great advantage for us, as we can focus on all segments at Heimtextil. We are even expanding our stand space in Frankfurt for 2025. We are looking forward to participating again in order to continue shaping the new product area for the future.”

The event promises an expanded exhibitor range and a robust content program that includes business-promoting presentations, panel discussions, and guided tours, further establishing Heimtextil as a crucial knowledge platform for the industry. The popular Carpet Lounge will return, offering a networking space accentuated by innovative designs and the latest carpet trends.
