As LIGNA prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, the anticipation is already manifesting in strong exhibitor engagement, a full year ahead of the event. Deutsche Messe AG and the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association, the organizers of the leading global trade fair for the woodworking and wood processing industry, have reported an exceptional early booking status.
As of May 2024, 80 percent of the net stand space from the 2023 event has already been booked for the upcoming anniversary edition. “By the end of the early bird discount period, exactly one year before LIGNA 2025, we have secured almost two-thirds of the exhibiting companies compared to 2023,” said Stephanie Wagner, Head of LIGNA at Deutsche Messe. “These figures show that the exhibitors’ commitment to LIGNA remains exceptionally high, even though the industry is currently navigating through difficult times.”
The fair’s global appeal continues to strengthen, with significant participation from market leaders in Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey, and Spain, and growing interest from Asia, particularly China and Japan.
The industry’s robust response to LIGNA 2025 underscores its resilience and optimism. Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association, emphasized the importance of this support: “We are currently at the low point of a severe economic downturn. The unanimous commitment of the registering companies to the upcoming LIGNA highlights the expectation that things will improve by 2025 at the latest and that many new orders will be discussed at LIGNA.”
