Businessmen of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed agreements worth more than $3 billion

At the Uzbek-Kazakh business forum, held in Tashkent on December 21, agreements were signed totaling more than $3 billion. The forum was held on the eve of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan, with the participation of officials and more than 400 representatives of the business community of the two countries.

The speakers noted that in recent years, mutual trade has more than doubled, approaching $5 billion. The parties planned to bring this figure to $10 billion, for which foreign trade infrastructure will be created in the near future.

Over the past five years in Uzbekistan, the number of enterprises with the participation of Kazakh capital has increased five times, to almost 1,200 units. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are implementing over 30 joint projects worth more than $3 billion.

A year ago, in Astana, at the previous Uzbek-Kazakh business forum, agreements were signed for $5.9 billion.
