Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed agreements on allied relations

Relations between the two countries have been brought to the highest and most trusting level of interstate partnership.

The key topics of the talks with the participation of the two presidents were the issues of cardinal expansion of relations in the political, trade, economic, energy, transport and logistics and other areas. Over the past five years, the volume of mutual trade has more than doubled and will approach $5 billion by the end of this year. In order to multiply the volume of trade in the coming years, the parties agreed to form a working group headed by vice-premiers and create a joint foreign trade company.

During the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, the countries signed, among other documents, an agreement on the establishment of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation “Central Asia”; agreements on the implementation of projects in the field of energy, transport and logistics; memorandums in the field of strategic reforms, development of electronic commerce and forestry; roadmaps to expand cooperation between the various regions of the two countries – in total, trade contracts and investment agreements worth $8 billion.
