Hybrid power plants based on wind and solar sources will be built on available plots around hydroelectric power stations in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, informing about a meeting on improving energy supply, which Shavkat Mirziyoyev held on January 19.
The meeting also noted the growing interest of entrepreneurs in hydropower due to favorable purchase prices for electricity generated by micro hydropower plants. By 2030, the capacity of hydroelectric power plants in Uzbekistan is planned to be increased to 3,416 MW, while it was 2,004 MW at the end of 2020.
