Heimtextil will introduce a dedicated Flooring & Equipment area at its 2026 edition, marking a strategic expansion beyond traditional textile offerings. The new section will complement the existing Carpets & Rugs segment, creating synergies between textile and non-textile floor covering industries at the Frankfurt-based trade fair.
The Flooring & Equipment area will showcase elastic floor coverings, designer and luxury vinyl tiles, cork flooring, laminate, parquet and other wooden flooring, as well as outdoor floor coverings. This expansion reflects the growing demand from interior design professionals for comprehensive product sourcing under one roof.
Strategic positioning and target groups
“We are constantly working with the industry to further develop Heimtextil – into a global stage of inspiration and solutions for the entire interior design sector. Non-textile floor coverings are an ideal addition to the existing product range offered at Heimtextil and appeal to new target groups, such as the specialised floor-covering retail,” said Margit Herberth, Director Heimtextil.
The new area will serve designers and decorators, interior architects, room and object furnishers, DIY and home improvement stores, garden centres, wholesalers and retailers. The direct adjacency to the Carpets & Rugs section aims to facilitate cross-segment business opportunities and efficient visitor navigation.
Hall layout optimization
“The new product range fits seamlessly into the hall plan of Heimtextil 2026 at the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Center. We optimise the visitor target groups’ routes in order to guide them efficiently and purposefully to the existing range,” explained Bettina Bär, Director Heimtextil.
The Carpets & Rugs segment has demonstrated strong growth since its 2023 launch, doubling in size for the 2024 edition. The addition of non-textile flooring builds on this success while addressing evolving market needs for comprehensive interior design solutions. A specialized content programme for the global carpet and floor covering industry will accompany the expanded offering.
