Expanded concept attracts global leaders in interior solutions

19-22 Jan 2026 • DOMOTEX

The international flooring and interior finishing industry is building momentum toward a major showcase in Hannover, with only four months remaining until the flagship trade event takes place from January 19-22, 2026. The exhibition is entering its crucial preparation phase with remarkably positive industry response, as numerous leading companies have already confirmed their participation.

Major industry players including Kronospan, Egger, Amorim, Unilin, Classen, Gerflor, ter Hürne, Swiss Krono, Project Floors, Bostik, Saint-Gobain, Akzo Nobel, and Meffert Farbwerke have secured their exhibition spaces. The event has also generated considerable interest in newly introduced product areas within interior finishing, reinforcing the fair’s high relevance for the sector.

Holistic approach transforms traditional exhibition concept

Under the motto “Creating Rooms. Transforming Spaces.,” the exhibition positions itself as more than a showcase of current product trends — it focuses on the transformation of future living and working spaces. The fair emphasizes its role as a central meeting point where numerous innovations are presented, ranging from new materials and digital solutions to innovative applications in interior finishing.

The expanded concept recognizes that interior finishing now requires holistic consideration — encompassing everything from flooring to wall and ceiling systems, acoustics, paints, and digital tools. This comprehensive approach creates a platform that brings together innovative concepts with practical applications.

Innovation Area bridges traditional craft with digital future

The Innovation Area represents a significant development for trade professionals, offering visitors hands-on experience with innovative products, materials, and processing methods. Beyond practical applications, the area focuses extensively on digital innovations including new software solutions, smart tools, and digital planning aids. This initiative effectively bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and the digital transformation of interior design.

Digital Shop addresses practical trade needs

The new Digital Shop format specifically targets trades including painters, varnishers, floor and parquet installers, and interior decorators. Companies will present practical, proven digital solutions designed to simplify daily operations, covering process optimization, digital file and data management, project and personnel management, as well as marketing and social media applications.

Complementing these presentations, The Work Shop will host expert lectures and panel discussions on digitalization over three days, adding substantial depth to the Digital Shop offerings.

Bert Bergfeld, Managing Director of the German Association of Wholesale Trade for Home & Paint, emphasizes the importance of such trade fairs for the wholesale sector: “For the wholesale trade, fairs like DOMOTEX are an important part of the network, as they not only provide a stage for product presentations but also promote manufacturers’ innovations. Here, wholesalers can deepen long-standing partnerships and discover new suppliers. With its very high share of professional visitors, DOMOTEX provides ideal conditions for high-quality business discussions.”

With its expanded concept, strong exhibitor participation, and innovative special formats — particularly the Innovation Trail and practice-oriented Digital Shop — the upcoming exhibition demonstrates its position as the central platform where trades, retail, and industry initiate business while discovering the latest innovations in flooring and interior finishing.
